Bio
Henry was the son of Anton and Rosie (Cernoch) Barta and brother of Elizabeth. He grew up on the family farm. He met Ethelene Schrank in 1953 and were engaged by the end of the year. Henry was drafted into the US Army and was stationed in New York City where he was an ambulance driver and was honorably discharged in 1956. Henry and Ethelene were married June 2, 1956. He was employed by Norman L Larson/Larson & Pugh doing bridge/road construction and retiring in 1995, after 40 years of service. During 1973 he moved his family to South Austin and they lived there for 47 years and raised 3 children. Family meant everything to Henry. He was living in Lockhart, Texas with a grandson, when he passed away surrounded by his family. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Ethelene, their 3 children, Jeanne, Karen and Michael, and 6 six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
