Funeral services for James J. "Jake" Brister, 75, of Anacoco, were held Saturday, April 10, 2004 in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel the Rev. John Burns, Rev. M. C. Green and Rev. Oliver Self officiated. Burial followed in Liberty Creek Cemetery in Leesville. Mr. Brister died Thursday, April 8, 2004 in Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was born in Pitkin and lived most of his life in Anacoco. He is survived by his wife, Alberta A Brister of Anacoco; one son, Jake W. Brister of Leesville; one daughter, Sonya J. Terry of Anacoco; one brother, Raymond Brister of Leesville; one sister, Jessie B.
