Grand Island Herald, published in Grand Island, Nebraska Thursday, 17 May 1923, page 5 John Fleisher passed away at his home at 2326 North Layfette street Saturday evening at the age of 87 years. He was a veteran of the Civil war and has been a resident of Nebraska for 58 years, most of which time was spent in Alda township. Besides his bereaved widow he is survived by four children. Funeral services were held from the home on Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the Alda cemetery. ========= Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Monday, 14 May 1923, page 5 Mortuary - John Fleisher John Fleisher, civil war veteran and a resident of Nebraska for 58 years, most of which time was spent in Alda township, passed away at his home, 2326 North Layfette street, south of the Soldiers Home about 7 p.m. Saturday following a rather extended illness from kidney trouble and resultant complications. He was aged 87 years. Besides his bereaved widow, four children survive him. Funeral services will be held from the home on Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock, Rev. C. E. Knapp, of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Alda cemetery.
