Funeral services for Wanda June Stephenson Stewart, 62 of Carthage, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Asher and Kerry Henry officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Stewart died on Saturday morning, August 25, 2007 at her home in Carthage. Mrs. Stewart was born on June 11, 1945 in Texas City, Texas to Joe Dudley and Betty Attaway Stephenson. She married Thomas Stewart on January 2, 1960 in Henderson. She worked as produce manager at Brookshire Brothers Grocery Store in Carthage for many years. Mrs. Stewart had lived in Carthage since 1972, moving from Kilgore. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Carthage. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and Bud Stephenson; and one sister, Joan Rozelle. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Stewart, of Carthage; two sons, David Stewart and wife Sue, of Carthage and Kenneth Stewart and wife Melissa, of Kilgore; one daughter, Anita Bridges and husband Terry, of Carthage; two brothers, Bobby Stephenson and wife Debbie, of Bacliff and Barry Stephenson and wife Ruth, of Channelview; three sisters, Patsy Hooks, of Kilgore, Barbara, of Houston, and Georgia; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Stewart and wife Jenna, Jessica Stewart, Samantha McCracken, Pattie Foster, Melissa Foster, Cody Tinkle, and Miki Brevard and husband Kevin; and four great-grandchildren, Gabriel Stewart, Thomas Russell Stewart, Stacie Brevard, and Alaina Brevard. Serving as pallbearers are Bill Pryor, Scott Goolsby, Mike Evanoff, Bob Kaatz, Sherman Pope, and Joe Fomby. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Paul Ragland.
