Zereth Coolidge Chaney JUNE 27, 1937 – AUGUST 30, 2020 Services for Zereth Coolidge Chaney, Jr. (Sonny) are scheduled for 10 am Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Zereth was born on June 27, 1937 in Martins Mill, TX to Ora Alice Elizabeth and Zereth Carmi Chaney Sr. He passed away surrounded by family on August 30, 2020. Zereth is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Jean Chaney; his daughter, Terry Lynn Roth; and his great-great grandson, Francisco Camach, III. He is survived by his daughter, Sheree Harris and husband, Gary, of Seagoville; his son, Colby Chaney and wife, Laura, of Kaufman; his dear special friend, Sue Potter of Granbury; sister, Vivian McMillan of Ft. Worth; sister, Quida Williams of Mesquite; grandchildren: Amanda Anderson, Brad Chaney, Brandi Roth, Brandi Harris, Dawn Bishop, Ashley Miller, Collin Chaney, and Kayla Chaney; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Zereth accepted the Lord and was baptized in the summer of 1956 at the end of a revival at Piedmont Baptist Church. Zereth loved his family with all of his heart and would go to the end of the earth for any one of them without hesitation. He had different jobs over the years, but truck driving was his love. He was proud to say that he was part of the 4 million mile club without an accident. He looked forward to vacations every year and loved camping with the family. He loved to dote on his grandchildren to everyone that would listen. He was a gigantic Texas Rangers fan and stuck with them no matter what. He loved his game shows and would amaze us all with the knowledge that he had. Zereth, Sonny, Dad, Papa was loved beyond measure and will truly be missed. There will never be another one like him. Pallbearers are Brad Chaney, Collin Chaney, Josh Miller, Damian Richardson, Brian Bishop and Keith Potter. Honorary Pallbearers are Josh Miller, Ace Miller and Jeremy McManus.
