Bio
Mr. Sheffield passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at the Memorial Nursing Center in Frederick. Lee Junior Sheffield was born on September 16, 1933, in Checotah, Oklahoma to Jim Thomas and Nora Myrtle Belle (Smith) Sheffield. He attended Davidson Public Schools. Lee served in the United States Army in Alaska. He was united in marriage to Wilma Joyce Lemon on December 17, 1952, in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2010. Lee worked for International Harvester and Dallas Airmotive, and then was self-employed and owner of Sheffield's Garage for many years. His family was his pride and joy! He loved playing the guitar and singing. Lee enjoyed fishing and was a true jokester. He was very personable and never met a stranger. Lee was a very Godly man and was a witness to everyone that he met. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. He is survived by one son, Michael Sheffield and his wife Cindy of Ardmore, Oklahoma; four daughters, Debra Brown and her husband Johnny Mack of Checotah, Oklahoma, June Hurst and her husband Kevin of Dalton, Georgia, Wanda Duncan and her husband Brad of Gould, Oklahoma and Trisha Bearden and her boyfriend Adam Clear of Hydro, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Reba Sheffield of Frederick, Oklahoma; two sisters, Dorothy Rushin and her husband Billy of Frederick, Oklahoma and Brenda Collom and her husband George of Frederick, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Sheffield of Carnegie, Oklahoma and Sharon Kay Bliss of New Prue, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, Brian Sheffield and his wife Jessica, Kenny Sheffield and his wife Candice, Charley Sheffield and his wife Andrea, Timmy Sheffield, Tyrel Brown and his wife Leigh, Tiffany Christian and her husband Anthony, Jimmy Bacon and his wife Melissa, Stephnee Pendergraft, Drew Duncan and his wife Tricia, Tessa Duncan and her fiancé Christian Fixico, Jennifer Smith and her husband Jeremy, and Kimberly Taylor and her husband Zach; a grandson-in-law, Patrick Pierson; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family member and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Myrtle Sheffield; his wife, Wilma Joyce Sheffield; one son, Donnie Sheffield; one grandson, Danny Sheffield; one granddaughter, Tracie Pierson; and three brothers, Edward Sheffield, Melvin Sheffield and Edgar Sheffield Funeral service for Lee Junior Sheffield, age 86, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at the Restoraton Church (formerly Lighthouse Chapel) with Marty Sheffield and Dan Coffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Billy Rushin officiating.
