SPENCE, MORRIS WAYNE SN US NAVY KOREA DATE OF BIRTH: 07/24/1934 DATE OF DEATH: 07/31/2020 BURIED AT: SECTION 5B ROW 2 SITE 14 NORTHWEST LOUISIANA VETERANS CEMETERY ___________________________ Morris Wayne Spence July 24, 1934 ~ July 31, 2020 (age 86) Beloved husband, cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather, treasured brother and uncle, Morris Wayne Spence, age 86, passed away in Marshall, Texas on Friday, July 31, 2020. He was born in Winnsboro Rural, Texas on July 24, 1934 to Cary Laverne Spence and Alamaranda “Gussie” (Hilburn) Spence. Morris is preceded in death by his parents, Cary and Gussie Spence, and his brothers, Paul David Spence, Alvin C. Spence, Charles E. Spence, Jackie G. Spence and Donald Spence. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Frances (Bowles) Spence; his children, David W. Spence (Clarissa) and Darlene Spence Bounds (David); grandchildren, Heath Winn, Garrett Winn, David M. Spence, Crystal Spence, Tiffany Spence Alford (Rocky), Miranda Winn Hill (Stephen); great-grandchildren, Lilly Alford, Rose Alford, Kendall Hill, Tripp Winn, Riley Spence and Jimma Spence; brothers, Vern Spence (Sue) and Gary Spence; sisters-in-law, Cathy Spence, Carolyn (Sissy) Spence and Helen Spence; numerous nieces and nephews, and his best friend, Gary Summers. Morris proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Marshall for over 50 years. He earned his BA degree and worked for many years in the powerline construction field as an electrical engineer. Morris loved spending time with family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
