Bio

Ruth was the daughter of James Henry and Elizabeth Lively Kirkwood. Her parents are buried in Crawford Cemetery. She shares a stone with her husband, Roger August Scott. OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Thursday, 15 August 1991: Ruth Kirkwood Scott Services for Ruth Kirkwood Scott, 88, of Baytown, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart with the Rev. Bill Walles Officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Navarre-Lee Funeral home in Baytown. Mrs. Scott died Wednesday in a Baytown hospital. A native of Houston County, she was born June 26, 1903. She was a former resident of Elkhart, and a longtime resident of Baytown-Crosby area. She was a homemaker and a Protestant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger August Scott. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Gentry of Baytown; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
