Bio

Mr. Weldon D. Brown, 89, of Reklaw, Texas, passed away on the afternoon of July 16, 2002. Weldon was born on November 1, 1932, in Alba to the late Hubert and Bertha (Murdock) Brown. Mr. Brown was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Brown in 2015, a brother Hulen Lee Brown, and sisters Imogen Flippens and Nell Craig. He is survived by his son Ray Brown and his wife Annette, daughter Tammy Darlene Moore, stepson Tommy Bailey and his wife Debbie, stepson Robert Bailey, 9 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Brown had a vast career doing many things. He was a mechanic working for General Motors for almost 20 years, missionary spreading God's word, commercial construction worker, race car driver, and a municipal judge in Cherokee County. Weldon enjoyed tinkering with cars, drag racing, hunting, and wetting a hook in the lake. The family will receive friends at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Thursday, July 21st from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. and following the visitation Mr. Brown will be laid to rest in Sand Springs Cemetery.
