Sylvia Irene (Andres) Hoffmann, 80, of Jamestown, ND died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND. Sylvia I. Andres was born October 3, 1925 in Fried, ND the daughter of Richard and Bertha (Stoltz) Andres. She grew up in Medina, ND and graduated from Medina High School. Sylvia married Wilbert Hoffmann on February 18, 1946 in Jamestown. They lived at Medina until 1952 when they moved to Sydney Township, south of Jamestown, where the family farmed for 26 years. Later, they moved to Ypsilanti, ND. After Wilbert died in 1982, she moved to the James House in Jamestown. Sylvia enjoyed crossword puzzles, embroidering, and most of all, watching FOX News. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Sylvia is survived by five daughters, Patti Pfaff, Jamestown, Denise (Bill, Jr.) Triepke, Montpelier, ND, Judy (Ron) Oster, Mandan, ND, Pam Marsolek, Jamestown, ND, and Karen (Nathan) Brown, Lingle, WY; three sons, William (Debra) Hoffmann, Haughton, LA, Clayton Hoffmann, Cogswell, ND, and Tim Hoffmann, Maricopa, AZ; twenty grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; three sisters, Doris (Calvin) Spitzer, Billings, MT, Betty (Elmer) Pfaff, Tappen, ND, and Jean (Ken) Gerber, Montpelier, ND; one brother, James Andres, Jamestown; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Bill) Lauber, Jamestown, Viola Trautman, Medina, ND, Mildred Hoffmann, Medina, ND, and Jackie Hoffmann, Medina, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Sandra; one brother, Bill; two great grandchildren, Bryce Roorda and Kiya Roorda; and fourteen brothers and sisters-in-law. Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND. Arrangements by Eddy Funeral Home.
