Bio

Daniel Louis Naizer, 80, of Granger died peacefully Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Johns Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Family visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 6 PM, Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of Life Mass will be at 10 AM on Monday at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. Rev. Joseph Nisari will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger. Daniel was born on December 1st, 1926 in Granger, Texas to John R. and Marcellina (Bartosh) Naizer. He attended school and worked on the family farm until entering the United States Navy in 1942 where he served on the USS Alioth and USS Pelias until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Sybil Repa on June 28, 1949 and settled in the Granger area where he farmed, ranched, and worked as a construction superintendent. Daniel was a loving and caring Father and role model to his five children. He was an active member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and School, the KJT and also the Knights of Columbus fraternal organizations. Daniel volunteered many hours at church and school functions throughout his life. Daniel was preceded in death by a son, Daniel F. Naizer; his parents; four brothers, Albert, Henry, Johnnie and Bernard Naizer and three sisters, Annie Rosipal, Edith Hajda and Mary Ella Prikryl. He is survived by his wife Sybil; his children, Cathy Cole and husband Allen of Boerne, Kenneth Naizer and wife Holly of Holland, David Naizer and wife Janie of Snyder and Carolyn Snyder and husband Troy of Keller; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Lad Naizer of Granger and one sister, Otillie Maresh of Waco. Memorials may be given to SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church or School in Daniel s memory.
