Bio
Sarah Winnefred Carruth was the daughter of William P. Hightower. It is possible her mother's name was Martha. Her mother died shortly after her birth. Sarah's father married Myrtilla Aldridge in in 1862. Sadly Mr. Hightower died a few years later. Her stepmother married Jesse Hutchings whos household she and her sister America lived until them married. She married Alexander Campbell Carruth on January 7, 1875. They were the parents of 10 children.
