LAURENCE, Mrs. Farah Lee (Fred) of Taylor. Age 80. Died 7/3/1972 (Tuesday) in a Taylor nursing home after a series of strokes. Services held (Wed.) in Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor. Burial held in family plot at the Lawrence Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Roland Humphrey officiated. Grandsons were pallbearers. She was BORN Farah Lee on 7/29/1891, to Duncan & Emma Williams Simmons, in the Shiloh Comm. Married Fred H. Laurence on 5/20/1907, he preceded her in death on 3/14/1970. Lifelong resident of Williamson Co. and until 5 yrs. ago had lived in Shiloh Comm., then moved to the Nursing Home in Taylor. Member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. SURVIVORS: 2 daughters, Mrs. Arden Laurence Barr of Austin, Mrs. C.E. (Mildred) Eckman of Pasadena; 4 sons, W.H. (Jack) Laurence, S.D. Laurence, both of Taylor, Rufus D. and Fred Egger Laurence, both of Thrall; sister, Mrs. Norma Frazier of Elgin; brother, Nathan Simmons of Ft.Worth; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the aunt of Miss Eloise Laurence and T.L. Laurence of Thorndale.
