Victoria Advocate, 17 Mar 1962, page 10 John P. Lauer Jr. Advocate News Service YOAKUM – John Paul Lauer Jr., 57, of Yoakum, died at 1 p.m. Friday in a local hospital. A carpenter, Mr. Lauer was born June 29, 1904 in Lavaca County, and was a lifelong resident of Yoakum. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Buffington Funeral Chapel, and at 9:45 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Edward Jansky officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Lauer; one daughter, Mrs. George Roznovsky; one son, Frank Lauer; one brother Emil, all of Yoakum; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Orsak, Mrs. Ben Janca and Mrs. Jim Mikulenka, all of Yoakum, and Mrs. Mary Horky and Mrs. Rudolph Olshovsky, both of Angleton, Texas.
