Bio

SMITH, Huey of Thorndale. Age 82. Died 12/15/1983 (Thursday) in a Rosebud hospital. Services were held (Friday) at 10 a.m. in Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home Chapel in Cameron. Burial in the Pleasant Retreat Cemetery. Rev. Howard Buchanan, pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Thorndale, officiated. He was BORN 6/10/1901 in Milam County and was a retired farmer. SURVIVORS: 2 daughters, Rosie Lee Mowdy of Hanover and Annie Mae Hollan of Thrall; son, Hughie Willis Smith of Rockdale; 3 sisters, Letha McMillan and Gladys Sowell, both of Austin and Willie Malich of Elgin; also 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
