Ethel Ellen Smith - Daughter of William Samuel "Bill" Smith and Annie Amanda Smith. Sister of Jesse Samuel, Gertrude Irena, Katie Bell, Unnamed Daughter (born April 1900, this child was not enumerated in 1910 census), Hewett/Houghton L "Hughie", Willie Truest, Rosa Etta, Gladys Loraine and Letha Lavana Smith. Ethel married, 20 Dec 1922 in Milam Co., TX, Henry Oliver "Ol" Locklin , a son of William Hardeman Locklin and Prescilla Ellison . Mother of Harvie Lewis , Samuel Henry , Aaron Eldred, Thomas Nelson , Jeanetta Effie Ellen and Annie Janell Locklin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes Regarding Ethel's Siblings: Jesse Samuel Smith married, 1916 in Milam Co., TX, Laura Josephine Brinkley. They had 2 known children, Emmett Samuel (1925-1927, interred at the Gause Cemetery, Milam Co., TX) and Thea Smith (born 1921). Laura married, abt 1924, Walter Edward Pehl. The date and place of Jesse's death is not known. Per his WWI Draft Registration Card, he was born 9 Dec 1893. Some family trees on Ancestry show he died in Upson Co., GA in 1924, but the birth date they show is May 1891 and I have found no GA Death Certificate that matches that information. I do not believe it to be the same Jesse Samuel Smith. I have created a memorial for him and would like to find further information or proof of Jesse's actual date/place of death and place of interrment so that I may update his memorial. See Find A Grave Memorial# 130215051. I have found no further information regarding the daughter that was born in April 1900. Letha Lavana Smith (born 27 Oct 1914) married, 30 July 1930 in Milam Co., TX, Willie Lee Snow. She later married, John(?) McMillan. She died, 18 Jul 1990 in Austin, Travis Co., TX and is buried somewhere in Houston, Harris Co., TX.
