BUCHANAN, Ernest D. of Thorndale. Age 79. Died 8/21/1983 (Sunday) in the hospital in Taylor. Services held Tuesday in Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor. Burial in the Pleasant Retreat Cemetery. Rev. Howard Buchanan officiated. BORN 8/14/1904, he had lived in Thorndale most of his life. Member of the Bible Baptist Church of Thorndale. SURVIVORS: Wife, Louise Stiles Stell Buchanan of Thorndale; 4 daughters, Gloria Ann Peacock of Thorndale, Martha Laverne Beard of Denver, CO., Hazel Raesz of Portland, TX. and Marjorie Cummings of Temple; 2 sons, Doyle Buchanan of Davilla and James Buchanan of Thorndale; step-son, Joe Stell of Carlsbad, NM.; 5 sisters, Dixie Bales of Thorndale, Ima Hensen and Mozelle Oliver, both of Houston, Eudolus Porter of Cameron, Hazel Davidson of Albuquerque, NM.; 2 brothers, John Buchanan of Houston and Rev.
