Bio

The community was shocked to hear the death of Mrs. Rebecca Griffee Benham, wife of Gus Benham on April 23, 1924. She was born February 15, 1855 the daughter of Edward and Rebecca Griffee. She married Gus Benham on February 7, 1898. She was a devoted wife, a faithful Christian and was loved by all who knew her. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Fowler of this place and Mrs. Jess Powell of West Point; one brother, Bob Griffee of Guston and a host of friends. Her remains were laid to rest in the New Brandenburg Cemetery. Meade County Messenger, April 30, 1924 page 5
