Anna Belle Staples Cooley, age 100 of Boyce, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2020 following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease in Shreveport, Louisiana. Anna Belle was born on August 5, 1919 in Tuleta, Texas to Walter Ross Staples and Ola Bell Taylor Staples. She was married to Lloyd L. Cooley. She was a housewife. She loved sewing, cooking, quilting, and gardening. She was known best for her homemade bread rolls and pies. Anna Belle is proceeded in death by her parents, Ross and Ola Bell Staples; Her husband, Lloyd L. Cooley; her brothers, Walter Staples, James Staples, Robert Staples and Tommy Staples; her sisters, Gladys Staples Herod and Velma Staples Kossa-McGrew. Anna Belle is survived by her daughter, Joyce Patterson of Greely, CO; her son, Dennis Cooley and his wife Betty of Keithville, LA; her sister, Cordelia Staples Sparks of Brenham, TX; her brother, Ted Staples of Tuleta, TX; her grandchildren, Steven Cooley of Keithville, LA and Kellie Perego and husband Duane of Middleton, TX; four great-grandchildren, Madison Cooley of Bossier City, LA, Parker Perego and Wife Sarah of Fort Worth, TX Karlee Robinson and husband Andrew of Lewisville, TX and Josh Cooley of Keithville, LA. In light of the public safeguards pertaining to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a private service will be held for Anna Belle at Centuries Memorial Funeral home, with Rev. Murry Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery in Flatwoods, Louisiana. Serving the family as honorary pallbearers will be Duane Perego, Parker Perego, Josh Cooley, Andrew Robinson, Brett Green, Mac Cooley, and Raymond Edwards.
