Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Wednesday, 2 June 1971 FARWELL (Special Dispatch)- Funeral services for Elmer F. Obermiller, 70, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peters Lutheran Church at Nystad, with the Rev. George Craig officiating. Visitation hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul. Burial will be in the Kelso Cemetery near Farwell. Mr. Obermiller died Monday afternoon at the St. Paul hospital. He was born Sept. 24, 1900, at Farwell, the son of Fred and Amelia Bernhagen Obermiller. He attended the kelso school and grew to manhood in the Farwell area where he was a farmer. On March 1, 1938, he was married to Freida Teichmeier at Grand Island. After their marriage, the couple made their home on a farm southwest of Farwell until April of 1970, when they moved into Farwell. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was a member at St. Peters Church at Nysted. For 22 years he served on the cemetery board and took care of the Kelso Cemetery. Survivors include his widow; one son, Jerry E. of Farwell, and four brothers, Walter, Delbert, Frederick and Wesley, all of Farwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
