OBIT - Banner Press, David City, NE, Thurs, May 6, 1982, pg. 21 KRIZ - Services for a former Butler County resident, Albin J. Kriz, 78, were conducted Sunday afternoon, May 2, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington, Minnesota, with Father Peter Klein officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Worthington. Mr. Kriz died Thursday morning, April 29, 1982, at the Worthington Hospital. Albin James Kriz, the son of John and Josephine Vachtl Kriz, was born December 1, 1903, at Brainard. He attended the public school in Brainard and for two years, he attended the University of Nebraska and Kearney State College. He taught in Butler County schools for five years. On May 23, 1928, at Brainard, he was united in marriage with Gertrude Rerucha. The lived in Brainard for 12 years. Mr. Kriz operated a general merchandise store and served one term as the Brainard Postmaster. During World War II he worked in an aircraft plant in Omaha. After the war, the couple moved to Seward where Mr. Kriz worked for C. A. Swanson and Sons. In October 1952, he was transferred to Worthington, Minnesota, where he was employed by the Campbell Soup Company. He retired in January 1960. Mr. Kriz was a post Grand Knight and past Financial Secretary of the Knight of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; a daughter, Mrs. Emmet (Louise) Gorman of Currie, Minnesota; a son, Melvin of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota; three grandchildren; three brothers, Louis of Bee, Otto of David City and Lad of Sanford, Florida; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Semin of Bee, Mrs. Cyril (Agnes) Palik of David City, and Mrs. Leon (Josephine) Boudreau of Kearney. Preceding him in death were his parents; and infant son, John Leroy; four brothers, Jacob, Charles, John and Emil, and two sisters, Frances and Sister M. Terrisita, of North Dakota.
