Bio

Boatswain's Mate 1/C (BM1/C) "Lad" Ladislov enlisted in the US Navy on 26 October 1937 and served a long career spanning several wars until his retirement in September 1957. His first ship was the cruiser, USS Vincennes (CL/CA-44) where he served from 26 February 1938 to 1941. He was then assigned to the Battleship USS South Dakota BB57 on 21 March 1942 in the 3rd Division; until 1943.His final ship, he was assigned on during WWII, was the light carrier, USS Independence (CVL-22) from 29 Jan 45 to 1944. His rank at retirement was Chief Boatswain's Mate (CBM).
