Nebraska State Journal; Wed. 27 Nov 1940; Pg 18 Malcolm man is Victim of heart attack John Kriz, 45, of Malcolm, a Burlington employee died late Thursday following a heart attack while at work at Garland. He had worked for the Burlington for the past 13 years and with his family had lived in Malcolm since 1935. Surviving are his wife, Helen; two sons, Rudolph, and Leo; a daughter Martha, all at home; his parents, Mr and Mrs John Kriz of Brainard, and five brothers and five sisters.
