Michael G. Smith was the youngest child of the Smith family who wrote a biographical sketch of his parents and his siblings in the 1980's. The following is what he wrote about his sister, Elizabeth. Elizabeth Smith was born June 21, 1887. She was an extremely good looking girl and was engaged to marry Spencer Crouch of San Augustine when she took sick and died in July 27, 1900, 21 years old. She is buried in the Smith Cemetery in San Augustine, Texas. ~ SMITH, LIZZIE San Augustine, Texas, July 30 - Miss Lizzie Smith, eldest daughter of Pat Smith, died suddenly on the 29th.
