Fort Bend Herald, February 20, 2020: Kathleen Faye Janecka Gajevsky, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, in Needville, Texas. Kathleen was born on July 16, 1940 in Rosenberg, Texas to Rudolph and Sophie Janecka. She graduated from Needville High School, Class of 1958. She met her future husband, Delbert, when she was a bridesmaid and he was a groomsman in their friends, Gene and Bessie Vasek's, wedding. They married July 16, 1960 and settled in Needville where they raised their 2 daughters. Kathleen held secretarial positions at Case Equipment and Needville City Hall where she also served as an Alderman for the City Council. She spent her entire life in Needville and could answer any question about the town and community. Kathleen enjoyed the simple things in life and had a life well lived. She and Delbert loved spending time at their farm in El Campo, going to their grandchildren's games, spending time with family, and traveling with their friends, Dennis and Dorothy. She loved the Lord and was a devoted member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Kathleen was a loving mother, grandmother "Gran", and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; brother, Darrell "Butchie" Janecka; and parents, Rudolph and Sophie Janecka. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Brandt and husband, Stan, Carol Lehman and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Will Brandt and wife, Kolleen, Ashley Sabrsula, Ryan Brandt, Corey Lehman and wife, Tiffany, and Shea Lehman; great-granddaughter, Macie Linn Hobbs and future great-granddaughter, Addison Mae Brandt; brother-in-law, Marvin Gajevsky and wife, Lillian; nephews, Matthew Gajevsky and wife, Sondra, and Dean Gajevsky. Kathleen also had the most wonderful people come into her life to assist in her care. A special thank you to Mary Alice Arrendondo, Jan Hartfield, Houston Hospice, and Reliable Oaks Assisted Living. Visitation is set for Friday, February 21, from 5-7:00 PM at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 9122 Church Street, Needville, TX 77461. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, with the burial to follow at Davis-Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 3900 BF Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, TX 77471. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Lehman, Shea Lehman, Ryan Brandt, Will Brandt, Matthew Gajevsky, and Dean Gajevsky. Memorials may be made in her memory to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 389, Needville, TX 77461.
