Bio
Raymond B. Nekuza, 89, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Friday, February 7, 2020. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Raymond Bob was born in Ennis, Texas, on October 22, 1930, to the late Anton and Annie (Kudrna) Nekuza. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School in 1948. Raymond served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1948 until 1953. On April 25, 1953, Raymond married Georgia Ann Prachyl and they made their home in Ennis. Raymond worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for over 32 years as a Car Man and the Texas Department of Highways for ten years on the Road Crew until retiring in 1994. Raymond was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and the KJT. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Polka dancing. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Raymond Nekuza; a daughter, Denise Elaine Nekuza on October 19, 1959; a grandson, Chadwick Daniel Ryan; a brother; and four sisters. Survivors include his wife of over 66 years, Georgia Ann Nekuza; daughters, Sandra Jean Dennie and her husband, Joel, and LaVerne Marie Waldrop and her husband, Rick; son, Paul Douglas Nekuza and his wife, Shelley; grandchildren: Aaron and wife, Angie, Tyler, Rylee and husband, Brent, and Caleb; great-grandchildren: Grant, Olivia, and Dallas; along with many extended family members and friends.
