Bio

Rubye McKinney, 93, of Waco, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, at a local nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rubye Mae was born in Mt. Calm, Texas, to the late William Henry and Maggie Mae (Davis) Gauntt. She married John L. McKinney on Nov. 2, 1935, in Prairie Hill. She was a seamstress and a member of Lacy Lakeview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, on March 23, 2006, after 70 years of marriage; four brothers; and one sister. Survivors include her sons, Billy McKinney and wife, Jeanne, of Ft. Worth and Larry McKinney and wife, Peggy, of McKinney; sisters, Lila Dell Lyon, of Bellmead and Thelma Jewell Pitts, of Pearland; granddaughters, Cheryl Milone, Shana McKinney, Mindi Warren and Michelle Barker; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
