Bio

Edward was the sixth child of John B. Sloan and Serena J. Richardson. He was about three years old when he came with his parents to Texas. He married Lucy Lavina Finley, June 12, 1872, in Hopkins County, Texas. They were farmers. They had one son who died at the age of four and nine daughters. Ed and his wife Lucy both played fiddle, jew's harp and harmonica, and all their girls played the piano except Dessie and Gertrude.
