[extract, living names withheld] /Northwest Florida Daily News/, (Fort Walton Beach), May 10, 2010 "Traci N Carr 1967-2010" Traci N. Carr, 42, of Holt, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 06, 2010. She was born on May 25, 1967 to J.B. Carr, Jr. and Jean W. Carr. Predeceased by her parents, J.B. Carr, Jr. and Jean W. Carr; daughter, Melissa Flora Hamm; brother, Murley "Mugsy" Calvert and nephew, Michael Calvert. Survivors include a life partner of 19 years, of Holt; seven children all of Holt; three brothers; two sisters, a sister-in-law; two grandchildren. She is also survived by her close nieces and nephews and many close friends. Funeral services held 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, chapel of Brackney Funeral Service. Officiator Rev. Jerry Haley. Burial following in Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery. Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview, is in charge. *Note the above nephew Michael Calvert. Traci also had a half/brother Michael Calvert, whom drowned at age 2 1/2 (or 3) when he fell off the boat. Lake Okeechobee, 30 Apr 1950. /The Baldwin Times/, (Bay Minette, Alabama), Thu., May 4, 1950, p 1 "Father, Son Drown in Florida Sunday" Murley Calvert and his 2 1/2 year old son, formerly of Robertsdale, drowned Sunday near their home in Bell Glades, Fla., while on an outing with the family on a boat. When the child fell overboard, the father jumped into the water and fought to save his son. Both were lost in the waters current. The body of the child was not as yet been found. The body of Mr. Calvert has been returned to Robertsdale for funeral services, plans for which have not as yet been announced. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J R Calvert of Robertsdale. The wife and mother of the child is the former Jean Willis of Bay Minette. *Several other articles found, name the boy as Michael Calvert, age 3. Body was not recovered. Murley's obit stated having 2 surviving children and wife Jean Willis. There were many articles on this drowning in both Florida and Alabama papers. *Other articles state of Jean being on the boat also and could not swim, could only watch. I just clipped the above article, being the first one I had found, but read several others.
