Las Vegas Review-Journal , January 14, 2000, p. 2B, col. 5 Charles Herre Charles Frederick Herre, 68, died Dec. 31 at home. He was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Nebraska. A deputy chief for Western Electric and AT&T, he was a three-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by is wife, Joan; sons, Michael, Pat and Todd; daughter, Susan Rockridge; brother, Darrrell; sister, Marilyn Higgins; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Herre, 68, of Las Vegas, formerly of Fremont and Omaha, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2000 [ sic ], at his home. Herre was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Fremont. He lived in Van Couver, Wash., for three years. He was department chief for Western Electric ATT. Survivors include: a wife, Joan; three sons, Mike (and wife Karen) Herre, Todd Herre of Omaha, and Pat (and wife, Kathy) Herre of Caldwell, Idaho; a daughter, Susan Rockidge of Omaha; a brother, Darrel Herre; a sister, Marilyn Higgins of Palmdale, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A private family service was held Jan. 5 in Las Vegas. An informal gathering will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Figby's Restaurant, 3346 North 108th Street in Omaha. A memorial has been established to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanah, Utah.
