Vernon F. Kruse, 88, of Taylor died Monday, November 18, 2002 at Johns Community Hospital. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 PM, Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of Life Services will be 2 PM, Friday at Providence Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Best officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Vernon Fredrick Kruse was born on January 11, 1914 to Herman and Louise (Krueger) Kruse in Hutto, Texas. On February 19,1936, he married Viola Balusek at the Brethren Church in Granger, Texas. Together they had celebrated their 25th, 40th, 50th wedding anniversaries and last year celebrated their 65th anniversary. Vernon was a maintainer owner and operator for many years. He created many terraces for area farmers. He enjoyed farming with his grandson, Justin. They enjoyed planting cotton and he achieved the honor of harvesting the 1st bale of cotton in Williamson County for several years. Vernon was also the owner and operator of Farmers Station on Thorndale Rd. for many years. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed including playing dominoes, tending to his cattle, gardening, and picking pecans. Vernon was a lifetime member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at Wuthrich Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charlie Kruse; two sisters, Gertrude Kruse and an infant sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Viola Kruse; two daughters, Verna Lou Anderson and Linda Limmer and husband Wayne, all of Taylor; two sisters, Olga Jaecks and Louise Duncan, both of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Justin Anderson and wife Cindy, Melissa Randig and husband Ron, Vernon Anderson and wife Catherine, and Tammy Talley and husband Jason, all of Taylor; great grandchildren, Megan Anderson, Clayton Anderson, Lori Talley, Madison Talley, Macey Randig, and Mallory Randig, all of Taylor; also nephews, Charles Kruse of Taylor and Randy Jaecks of Ft. Worth. Honorary pallbearer is Randy Jaecks. Pallbearers will be Justin Anderson, Vernon Anderson, Ron Randig, Jason Talley, Charles Kruse, and Kyle Kruse.
