Bio
Steven Joe Valek, Sr., 78, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019, in Desoto, Texas. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Steve was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Joe and Angeline (Mensik) Valek, the youngest of four children. If Steve thought he could do something, he did it. He loved to pick his guitar with friends, cowboying, and just what his heart desired. On June 26, 1965, he married Louise Kovar, and they had five children, Steve enjoyed and thought the world of his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years; two sisters; and two infant siblings. Survivors include his sons: John Valek and his girlfriend, Melissa, Steve, Jr., Danny Valek and his wife, Donna, and James Valek and his girlfriend, Monica; daughter, Theresa Kubin and her husband, Jeff; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Valek; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
