Bio
Josephine Kubin, 90, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on September 2, 2014. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Antonio Ormaza as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Ennis. Josephine was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Joe and Angeline (Mensik )Valek. She married Joe R. Kubin on April 19, 1949, in Ennis. She was a lifetime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Sokol Sewing Circle, and Catholic Daughters. Josephine enjoyed baking and taking care of her flower garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe R. Kubin; granddaughter, Jeanie Marie Kubin; and sister, Angeline Hornik and her husband, Joe. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Kubin and wife, Irene, of Ennis, and Gene Kubin and wife, Cay, of Ennis; daughters, Mary Kubin, of Ennis, and Helen Shearer, of Belmont, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Valek; brother, Steve Valek, Sr. and wife Louise, all of Ennis; other relatives and many friends.
