Agnes Clara Veselka, 88, of China Spring, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, in McGregor. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, by George Christensen, with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Agnes was born in Leroy, Texas, to the late George Andrew and Clara (Wachsmann) Snider. She attended schools in Penelope. On Dec. 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to Henry Emil Veselka, Sr. in Waco. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and take care of her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Agnes enjoyed getting together and playing dominoes. She was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church in China Spring and a former member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 30, 1979; brothers, Edmund Snider and Toney Snider; and sisters, Flora Doskocil, Janie Lewis, Lena Bakluda, Rosa Kindred and Ann Veselka. Survivors include sons, Henry Veselka, Jr. and wife, Dolores, Jerry Veselka, Steve Veselka and wife, Pam, and Vince Veselka and wife, Michelle, all of China Spring; daughters, Connie Caldwell and husband, George, Clara Veselka, and Paula Corfield and husband, Rodger, all of China Spring; sister, Lillian Bayer, of Waco; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
