Bio
Texas Private, US Army Swinky, Benjamin Paul, age 36, of Blessing, passed away at his residence, the Blessing Hotel, of an apparent heart attack on April 25. He was a life-long resident of Blessing and owner of the Blessing Hotel and restaurant. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Thursday, April 27, in Taylor Brothers Chapel with Msgr. C. J. Martin officiating. Interment will be in Hawley Cemetery. Mr. Swinky is survived by his sisters, Annie Mae Hurta and Wilma Vavra of El Maton; Louise Bolling and Margaret Fehmel of Bay City; Doris Johs of Blessing; Geraldine Strelec of Edna; Frances Dusek and Emily Herrin of East Bernard and Patsy Scott of Houston. Also brothers, Edward of Bay City and Johnnie of Clarksville, Indiana. Other survivors are 28 nieces and nephews, six great-nieces and two great-nephews. Pallbearers will be Billy Jalufka, Lee Hall Pierce, Lawrence Bartosh, Ronnie Knebel, Alton Ray Vavra and Lawrence Hurta. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
