Bio
Daughter of Carl "Carlos" Foote and Ama Rachel Amsberry of Nebraska. "Funeral services for Vera Ruth Foote, age 77, of Broken Bow, who died June 29, 1989 at Southview Manor Care Home in Cozad, were July 3rd at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with the Reverend David Hansen officiating. Pallbearers were Joe Weitzel, Jiggs Glidden, Bernard Sheets, Dan Sheets, Sam Spitler and Lee Thomas. Burial was in the Dunning Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements. Vera Foote was born January 6, 1912 at Broken Bow to Carlos and Anna (Amsberry) Foote. She grew up on the family ranch south of Dunning and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1929. She worked as a secretary in Omaha and in Michigan and was a medical secretary at the University of Oregon for many years. She retired and returned to Nebraska about 20 years ago. Survivors include two brothers, Stiles and Chester of Dunning; one sister, Velma Bowden of Greensboro, North Carolina; niece and nephew, Susan and Robert Bowden of Greensboro, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister."
