Brown, 80, 650 South Canton, Denver Colo. died Wednesday evening at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Gass-Haney Funeral Home, the Rev. Lee Hicks presiding. The body will lie in state Saturday at Gass-Haney Funeral Home until the service. She was born Jan. 26, 1899 at North Bend to John and Victoria (Sedlacek) Cherny. She graduated from the University of Nebraska and attended graduate classes at the University of California at Los Angeles. She married Harry C. Brown on April 27, 1929 in Liberty, Mo. They lived in Columbus from 1929 until they moved to Denver in 1965. She taught music in the public school system and private piano lessons. She belonged to a Chapter CH of PEO, Honorary Chapter B of the Order of the Eastern Star, was a past Guardian of Jobs Daughters Bethel 39, a member of Mu Phi Epsilon music sorority and the Federated Church. She is survived by her husband, Harry C. Brown of Denver; two daughters, Mrs. May Brown O'Dell of Aurora, Colo. and Mrs. Margery Brown Sellers of Littleton, Colo.; a son, John Cherny Brown of San Francisco, Calif.; six grandchildren; a sister, Alice Cherny of North Bend.
