Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be ... at Livingston-Sondermann Funera. Home... Mr. Murphy was born March 5, 1915, at Primrose to John and Ethel (Cargill) Murphy. He attended school in Greeley County. He was employed as a farm hand in Greeley County, He was then employed with the Civilian Conservation Corps for a year. He moved to Chicago, where he lived for 12 years. He returned to Grand Island in 1949. He married Evelyn CRESS WILLOUGHBY on Aug. 22, 1952, at Grand Island. They made their home in Grand Island. Mr. Murphy was employed by the Griswold Seed Co. and later was a manager. He retired in 1988. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9562 and the Eagles. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Deanna (Mrs. Robert) Denman of Mesa, Ariz.; one step-son, Duane Willoughby of Corpus Christi, Texas; ...grandchildren; two brothers, Earl and Harold Murphy, both of Grand Island; one sister, Arlene Scott of Grand Island; four half-brothers, Charles Murphy of Kearney, Alex Graff and John Graff, both of Greeley, and Verlon Graff of Columbus; and one half-sister, Eunice Clements of Spalding. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson; one half-brother, Merle Graff and one half-sister, Imogene Niemoth,
