Bio
Carolyn Fleming Thornton, 80, of Rogersville, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019, just 21 days shy of her 81st birthday, at North Alabama Medical Center. Carolyn was a member of Emmanuel Grace Church of God. She spent over 20 years as a supervisor at Season II Sportswear. She was a loving and caring person who absolutely loved life. Mrs. Thornton’s visitation will be Friday, October 4th from 12 -2 at Emmanuel Grace Church of God, with funeral service following. Justus Cole will be officiating. Burial will be held in Hurricane Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rocky Simpson, John Thompson, Tony Davis, Spencer Thompson, Tyler Davis, Alec Davis; honorary, Zach Davis and Gavin Davis. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Fleming and Sherald Thornton; parents, Farland and Pearl Varnell; daughter, Teresa Davis; brothers, Horace, Duell and Billy Varnell; sister, Slettie Dale. She is survived by her daughters, Renee (John) Thompson, Tammy (Rocky) Simpson; grandchildren, Zach (Lindsey) Davis, Tyler Davis, Breanna Simpson, Spencer Thompson, Brooklyn Thompson, Mallory Simpson, Alec Davis; great-grandson, Gavin Davis; special sister and best friend, Linda (C.C.)
