WASHBURN — Cleta Mae Casey, 86, of Washburn died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, in Point Lavaca. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home Pioneer Chapel with Larry Hickam officiating. Burial will be in Washburn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Cleta was born April 25, 1928, and raised in Aspermont. She married William Doyle Casey in Clovis, N.M. on May 2, 1946. They later settled in Washburn to raise their family. She worked for Levi Strauss & Co. in Amarillo for many years. She always enjoyed their trips to the Navy reunion, as well as spending time with family and loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willian Doyle Casey; a son, Doyle Wayne Casey; a sister, Venita Louise Helmers; and two brothers, Larry and Roy. Survivors include a son, William “Dub” Casey; her grandchildren, Shad Casey, Shane Casey, Shannon Casey Van den Heever, Jeremiah Casey and Dustin Casey; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
