WASHBURN - William Doyle "Pa" Casey, 82, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., in Amarillo, with the Rev. Harold Elliott officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Washburn Cemetery in Washburn. Mr. Casey was born Dec. 26, 1924, in Lockney to Robert and Linnie Whitlock Casey. He was part of the LST division that landed on Iwo Jima. On May 12, 1946, he married Cleta Casey in Clovis, N.M. Mr. Casey was a fun-loving man who never met a stranger. He was happiest when he was working on cars or hot rodding. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a sister; and a son, Doyle Wayne Casey , in 1997. Survivors include his wife of 60 years; a son, William "Dub" Casey of Port Lavaca; a sister, Jean Johnson of Delores, Colo.; six grandchildren, Brett W. Matthews, Shaddon S. Casey, Shannen H. Casey, Jeremiah W. Casey, Shannon S. Lees and Dustin W. Casey; and 10 great-grandchildren, Dakota Casey, Saige Casey, Clairissa Matthews, Bailee Casey, Abi Simmons, Chance Wayne Casey, Ani Lees, Levi Casey, River-Jordan Casey and Matthew Lees. The family suggests memorials be to the Washburn Cemetery Association.
