Bio

Texas, Private, U. S. Army, World War I. Purple Heart. Joe Kopecky, 79, a resident of Blessing passed away September 26 at the Matagorda General Hospital. He was a member of American Legion Cecil Lee Post No. 649 Blessing, the SPJST lodge, and the Lutheran Church. Survivors include: 4 sisters, Mrs. Treacy Baggett and Mrs. Agnes Boston both of Pasadena, Mrs. Lillian Flint of Bay City and Mrs. Vlasta Domorad of Markham; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held September 28 at 2 p.m. at Taylor Brothers Chapel with Pastor Henry E. Beseda of Caldwell, Texas. Interment will be at the  Hawley Cemetery in Blessing with pallbearers being; Mel Lee, John Graff, Tick Pierce, Buck Janak, Victa? Zemanek, and A. C. Bogart.
