The People's Banner (David City, Nebr.), November 20, 1947, p. 1, col. 4 AGED ABIE FARMER DIES OF HEART ATTACK Charles Marushak, 73, farmer residing alone northwest of Abie, was found dead beside his automobile Monday, having succumbed to a heart attack. He is survived by three brothers and three sisters: Frank Marushak, Mrs. Jim Johannes, Mrs. Julia Semrad, Anton Marushak, Louis Marushak, and Mrs. Emma Virgil. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vaclav Marushak, passed away in 1898 and 1918. They had homesteaded on the farm where Charles Marushak had lived his entire life. His parents also founded the Nimburg cemetery, where he will be interred. Two brothers and one sister had preceded him in death, John and Joseph Marushak and Mrs. Mary Kroupa. Mr. Marushak belonged to Z. C. B. J. lodge for over 40 years. Members of the lodge will act as pallbearers.
