According to the 1880 census she was 42 years old, born Bohemia, and farmed in Linwood Precinct, Butler County, Nebr. with her husband and eight children: John (18, Bohemia), Mary (16, Bohemia), Joseph (11, Nebr.), Frank (9, Nebr.), Charlie (7, Nebr.), Annie (5, Nebr.), Julia (3, Nebr.), Anton (born the previous October). In 1900 she was a widow, born April 1837 in Bohemia, emigrated to the United States in 1863, mother of 12 children, 10 living, and farmed in Linwood Township with her children (all born Nebr.): Charles (October 1874), Julia (February 1880), Louis (July 1883), and Emma (March 1885).
