The Onawa Weekly Democrat , May 12, 1949, p. 3, col. 5 Funeral Services Held Here Last Saturday For Frank Sabatka Death came quietly on Wednesday evening for Frank Sabatka after a lingering illness of over 5 years. He passed away in a hospital at the age of 67 years 3 months and 21 days, having been born in Saunders County on a farm near Morse Bluff, Nebraska. At a very young age he clerked in a store and for 12 years bought and sold grain at an elevator. February 5, 1906 he was united in marriage with Lillian Votova at Abbie, Nebraska. To this union four children were born; Emil, Blanch (Now Mrs. Otto West) and Frank Jr., all of Onawa and Edward of Castana. The couple settled on a farm near Valparaiso, Nebraska, making their home there for 14 years, then in 1931 they moved to the farm two and one half miles East of Onawa. He is survived by his devoted wife the four children, one sister, Antonia Reime of Linwood, Nebraska; six grand children, a few other relatives and a number of friends. Services conducted from the Christian church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 Everett Epperson officiating, clergyman. Burial in the Onawa cemetery with the Wood Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Orland Ferris sang two songs accompanied by Nancy Ferris at the organ.
