Wolff was born to Cyrus E. and Carrie Mae (Van Wormer) Carlson on March 26, 1933, on a farm near Marquette, and passed away at Aurora, on July 5, 2019, at the age of 86. Carrolyne was one of six children in the family and lived on the farm until the age of 2 when the family moved into Aurora. She grew up and attended public schools in Aurora, graduating in 1950. Carrolyne was named the first “Miss Aurora” in 1949, at the Harvest of Harmony Parade. She worked at the Little Owl Diner and was a dental assistant for Dr. J. M. Allen. Carrolyne married LaVern Wolff on Feb. 10, 1952, and, in 1953, joined him in El Paso, Texas, where he was serving in the U.S. Army. She lived for two years in Texas where their first child, Debra, was born. They returned to Aurora in 1955, and another child, Curtis, was born that year. In the winter of 1955, they moved to a farm 3 ½ miles north of Aurora and lived there for 25 years. In 1978, they moved to the home place five miles north of town and retired from farming in 1999. Vern passed away on May 19, 2015. Carrolyne was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her two children, Deb Wolff and Curt (Lila) Wolff, all of Aurora; five grandchildren, Chyanne Krause (Ryan Kuester), Brandis (Brian) Bauer, Sara (Dane) Sutherland, Sam (Amy) Wolff, Sally (Kevin) Bolis; 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Noni Troester of Hampton, and brother, Dick (Thelma) Carlson of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, ‘Red’ Carlson; and sisters, Gloria Christian and Donna Taylor. She told her family, “Finally got me out of the house!”
