According to his World War I draft registration card he was born August 8, 1880, contradicting the birth date in the second obituary below. ''''''''' The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), March 14, 1940, p. 1, col. 4 Frank Tranda Passes Away Frank Tranda, 53 years of age, passed away at the David City hospital last Saturday morning, March 8, following a lengthy illness. He had been crippled since childhood. Short funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the Holy Trinity church in Brainard, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. J. Klein officiating. Burial was in the Brainard Catholic cemetery. Mr. Tranda is survived by his aged mother of Brainard, and by three brothers, Charles, living in Montana, Hubert of near Linwood and Louis of Chicago. His father, Charles Tranda Sr., died in 1913. '''''' The Peoples Banner (David City, Nebr.), March 14, 1940, p. 1, col. 4 Frank Tranda of Brainard passed away at his home on March 8th, leaving his mother, Mrs. Mary Tranda surviving. He was born on September 9, 1886. Burial services were held in the Brainard Catholic church on Monday at 1:30 o’clock. Father Klein officiated.
