Obituary in The Frontier and Holt County Independent, O'Neill, Nebraska, Thursday, Nov 9, 1950, page one Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon for Hans Peter Hansen, pioneer resident of Holt County who died at his home in northeast O'Neill on Wednesday morning. Mr. Hanson was born in New York on April 24, 1876, the son of John Peter and Hannah Hansen, natives of Denmark. At the time of his death, he was 74 years, 6 months and 14 days of age. 1900 Holt County Nebraska census listed birth as Apr 1876, born in New York and parents born in Denmark. (Calculation using death date of 8 Nov 1950 at age 74 yrs 6 mos 14 days makes birth as 25 Apr 1876. Headstone reads 1867. Birth years is wrong on headstone if information in obituary and 1900 census are correct.)
