Hugh L. Kindle passed away June 15, 2007 at his home in Clear Lake City, TX at age 69. Hugh was born January 13, 1938 in East Texas. He is survived by his wife, and daughter, and two grandsons. Hugh was one of eight children of the Alvy and Winnie Kindle family. Hugh is also survived by two brothers. He also has a number of sister-in-laws and two brother-in-laws. Hugh served in Korea with the US Air Force. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force he attended the University of Houston and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation from UH in 1971 we went to work for Ford Aerospace as a NASA contractor. He remained working as a NASA contractor with various companies for the next 31 years. At Ford Aerospace he did hardware design work on the Dump Data Handler (DDH) at Mission Control Center (MCC) among many other things. The DDH was a huge electronic data storage device used for storing and archiving real time data from the space craft for later study and analysis. Later at Rockwell and the United Space Alliance he was the principal coordinating hardware engineer for the Space Shuttle Simulator and Trainer. Hugh retired from United Space Alliance in 2002 and suffered with Parkinson's disease until his death. Graveside service will be held at the Caledonia Cemetery in the community of Caledonia, Texas located in the southeastern corner of Rusk County, where Farm Road 1971 crosses Highway 84. This is located about 18 miles west of Tenaha on highway 84 and 15 miles southeast of Clayton on 1971. Houston Chronicle on 6/17/2007
