Bio

Archibald Pulham Arch Pulham, 97, our loving father and patriarch, passed away peacefully, December 1, 1992, at East Lake Care Center, incident to age. He was born December 30, 1894, in Ricksmansworth, Hertford, England, to Frederick Joseph Pulham and Laura Jane Carter Pulham. He married Essie Magdalene Terry, June 7, 1917, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died October 17, 1973. He immigrated with his parents and three brothers to Mt. Pleasant in 1900. The family later homesteaded at McKinnon in the Wyoming Territory. He later moved to Southern California to raise his family. During World War II, he returned to Orem and purchased a fruit farm. Along with raising fruit, he was manager of the Timp Missionary Book Store, until his retirement. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held the office of High Priest. He had served as bishop twice, and as a stake patriarch for over 25 years, serving many hundred members of the church in the north part of Orem. He also held many other positions over the years. He enjoyed fishing, photography, camping, and the association of his family and many friends. He is survived by two sons and three daughters: Kenneth T. Pulham, G. Reese Pulham, and Mrs. Don (Faye) Lunceford, all of Orem; Mrs. Leon (Betty Jean) Isaacson of Springville; and Mrs. Glenn (Evelyn) Frandsen of Salt Lake City. There are 35 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Frederick and A. Richard Pulham. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 1992, at 11 a.m. in the Canyon View 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 1200 N. 800 East in Orem. Friends may call Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State in Orem, and also Saturday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the love, skill, and devotion of the doctors, nurses, and staff members of the East Lake Care Center who cared for Archie with such loving and tender care.
